At Decatur First, we believe children are a critical part of the church family and we love to see them in worship with their families. We love to nurture their relationship with God through engaging, age-appropriate Sunday morning programs
NURSERY // 8:30AM - 12PM
Our nursery is offered every Sunday for children infants through age four in the main building on the first floor: 8:30am - 12:30 pm We have paid nursery staff who stand ready to welcome and love your child. Background checks are performed on every staff member and they are CPR trained. All nursery workers and volunteers abide by safe sanctuary guidelines.
SUNDAY SCHOOL // 9:45 - 10:45AM
Our programs for children have elements that include storytelling, art, music and games for building community among the children. Each age group has a slightly different format.

Children as young as three years old before the start of the school year who are fully potty trained may begin Godly Play, while younger children (or those not yet ready for Sunday School) can attend the Nursery.
During the summer, children age 5 through 6th grade attend a special series. Past sessions have included Bible Olympics and Building Faith Brick by Brick.
Children are welcome to join our activities at any time during the year. Have questions about any of our programs for kids? Please contact Catherine Breed, Director of Children’s Ministries.
Decatur First hosts a week of Vacation Bible School each summer for children age 4 through rising 5th grade. Bible stories, games, crafts, and music, help curious kids learn more about faith and connect with one another. This fun and inspiring week is made possible by the service of youth and adult volunteers.

Please consider volunteering as a Children’s Sunday School teacher, music leader, preparation helper, or greeter.
CHILDREN IN WORSHIP
We encourage your child to worship with you at any of our worship services. We welcome noise and fidgeting. We are here to support your family as you worship together. Children often participate in elements of worship as scripture readers, call to worship leaders and acolytes. Families who prefer childcare are welcome to use our nursery on the first floor of the main building (infants - age four) any time between 8:30am and 12:30 pm
