Phyllis W. Conard (2020)
GROW Team Chair or

My husband, Mark, and I have been members of DFUMC since 1988 and raised our two children, Jordan (27) and Anna (23) in our church. I have a Master’s in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin and an Urban Studies degree from the College of Charleston. I have 12 years of experience in local and state government. When my children were young, I decided to begin a new career in education and joined the teaching staff of the Decatur First Weekday Children’s Ministry. I became the Director of Children’s Ministries at DFUMC in 2001 and served in that role through 2011. After leaving the church staff, I joined Bright Horizons Family Solutions, a company that provides quality early childhood education throughout the world, including corporate childcare centers for Atlanta companies such as Home Depot and Chick-fil-A.  I am an active member of DFUMC as a volunteer with the Godly Play program for 3-4 year olds on Sundays and I serve as a church greeter and youth choir mentor. I currently serve as the chair of the DFUMC Grow Team.  My hobbies include gardening, reading, following politics, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. I am originally from Greenville, S.C.
