Hello, I’m Sharon Brewer

I’m a longtime member of Decatur First and a lifelong Methodist. My maternal grandparents met here while my grandfather attended the Candler School of Theology and were married in the DFUMC Chapel. My late father, Bishop L. Bevel Jones III, was a student pastor at DFUMC while he attended Candler and married my mother, “Tuck,” in the Chapel. From 1967-1976, Bev served as Senior Pastor at DFUMC and my oldest brother, David Jones, served as Senior Pastor for four years. In addition, my paternal grandfather, great-grandfather and father-in-law were Methodist ministers. My husband, Dave, and I were married in the DFUMC sanctuary. I have served in numerous leadership and teaching roles here. I’m a Community Cultivator with Wellroot Family Services, formerly called The United Methodist Children’s Home. I love Methodism and teaching about it!
