United Methodist Women

Three of the United Methodist Women's (UMW) Circles *meet the second Tuesday of the month at 10:30am in the Fellowship Hall.

*exception: no meeting in April, due to Holy Week

At Decatur First United Methodist Women, our desire is to offer women an opportunity to join us for fellowship, support, and outreach. We welcome women of any age to visit one of our circle meetings or the monthly general program. You will find dedicated women who donate their time and resources in support of women, children and youth in the Decatur community and as well as the global community. There are five United Methodist Women circles that meet regularly, three during the day & two in the evening. The UMW Circles, with a total membership of around 90, are able to support many local missions. For more information, contact Sandy Kruger: sskruger@bellsouth.net

Who are we?

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God, & to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.

Who is a Member?

A member of UMW is anyone who commits herself to the UMW purpose and chooses to belong. UMW welcomes all women who want to join, and celebrates an inclusive membership atmosphere. Being a member of The United Methodist Church is not required, nor is there a minimum age for joining. United Methodist Women participate in meetings, prayer, financial giving, study, and service, as part of their local and global mission to engage and support women, children and youth. United Methodist Women is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth, personal leadership, and transformation. As a member, each woman accepts the challenge to expand her concept of mission.
