Children's Music

The children's choirs of Decatur First participate seasonally in Sunday morning worship and the annual Christmas concert. The youngest choirs focus on music and movement as well as exploring their voices, while the older children learn how to sing together in a choir setting and basic music literacy through fun interactions with our wonderful leaders.

The Youth Choir of Decatur First leads in 11 am worship regularly & participate in the music ministry's annual Christmas concert.

Chancel Choir

  • Wed. at 7:15pm

The Chancel Choir of Decatur First leads in 11am worship weekly, participates in the music ministry's annual Christmas concert, and regularly offers sacred works and concerts for the church and community. It is never too late to join and we welcome all who love to sing (no previous experience required).

Celebration Ringers

  • Sun. at 5-6pm

  • Room 304

Adults are invited to ring together handbells and chimes. Intermediate to advanced music level. This group plays in worship seasonally and participates in the annual Christmas concert.

*Previous bell choir experience or fluency in reading music/playing an instrument is highly recommended.

Decatur Strummers

  • twice a month on 1st & 3rd Thursdays, 1-2pm

The newest addition to the music ministry thanks to the pandemic, ukulele players of all abilities are welcome to join this group. This group meets twice a month to work to improve playing abilities and prepare music for worship and community events.
