Here at Decatur First we offer services and programs to support the whole person and family. We also have a tremendous outreach of care and comfort for members and those in need in times of personal crisis. We also have groups and activities to uplift and engage the mind and spirit. Grief Support Group
Tuesday Mornings from 10:00am- 11:30am in Room 218. This group is for those struggling with grief.
Monthly Older Adult Support Group
Led by Lucretia DeBose on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:30am. This will be a casual conversation with peers to discuss aging issues. Meets in the library, or for a bigger group, in room 211.
Chronic Pain Support Group
Sponsored by the Spondylitis Association of America.
Chronic Pain Group meets in person every 3rd Saturday of each month at 11 am-12 pm, and the monthly Zoom meetings are every 4th Thursday at 7:30 pm-8:30 pm.
Topic: Hacks, Tips, and Tricks for Managing Pain--Bring them to the meeting! Let's share with the others what helps us! We talked a bit about this in our last meeting. I will bring anything that I had discussed with the group.
When: The Chronic Pain Support Group will not be meeting in person or via zoom the month of September. We will return for both in person and online meetings in October.
Next Virtual Chronic Pain Support Group Meeting is Thursday, August 22nd, 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm.
Topic: Let's Get Together! For all those in need of gathering in a small group with like-minded people to share ideas, stories, and coffee--you are welcome. Your family and friends are also welcome.
