ANIA SURI

Director of Children’s & Youth Choirs

Ania Suri is a conductor and vocalist completing her undergraduate degree in Voice Performance at the University of Toronto. She will begin her Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Georgia State University this fall, studying with Dr. Deanna Joseph.

A lifelong chorister, Ania spent twelve years with the Toronto Children’s Chorus, later serving as a Choral Scholar and Conductor’s Assistant. She has performed and toured internationally with ensembles including the University of Toronto MacMillan Singers, the Ontario Youth Choir, and the World Youth Choir.

As a conductor, Ania leads the Junior Choir of the Mississauga Children’s Choir and has held conducting fellowships at the Eastman School of Music and the University of North Texas.

Ania is delighted to join Decatur First UMC as Director of Children’s and Youth Choirs and is passionate about inspiring young singers and nurturing a love of choral music in the Decatur community. Ania will join the staff in August, after she moves to Georgia from Canada.
