Luke Murphy

Director of youth ministries

Luke Murphy graduated from the Candler School of Theology in 2026, and is excited to return to the world of Youth Ministry here at Decatur First. Originally from Spartanburg, SC, he most recently served as the Pastor-in-Charge at Sacred Tapestry UMC in Roswell. Youth ministry is not new to him though, as he has served as an assistant summer camp director and youth pastor in the past. He has additionally been an English teacher, ghost tour guide, improviser, beauty pageant host, and wannabe rockstar(ongoing). He loves meeting new people, songwriting, loitering all day in coffee shops, and spending time with his incredibly awkward dog, Kanan.
