Roy Firestone is an experienced organist and accompanist with more than 36 years in church music. He also is an accomplished conductor and film composer, having received professional training from the Film Scoring programs of the Berklee College of Music and UCLA Extension. A native of Warrenton, VA, Roy studied organ at James Madison University and later completed post‑graduate level work in choral conducting at the University of Southern California. Roy has served churches in Atlanta and Los Angeles and is passionate about hymn playing and supporting congregational singing. He and his family relocated to Midtown Atlanta in 2024, where he also works full-time as a product leader in media and entertainment technology and teaches product management part-time for Emory Continuing Education. Roy will join the DFUMC staff mid June, and will have his first Sunday on June 21st.
